Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist, and competes within the UFC flyweight division. She is the elder sister of fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her professional journey as an Muay Thai kickboxer. Her debut was in 2003, at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won this tournament, beating Suzane Mill in the finals via a majority vote. Antonina was awarded a medal of silver in 2007, a medal that was bronze in 2008 as well as she won a gold medal in the year 2011. She was also crowned IFMA Amateur Muaythai World Champions in 2016. She left the promotion in 2018 and joined Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko fought Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina used her superior fighting abilities and striking skills to TKO Nievera in the clinch with knees and body. After this win, Antonina received the chance to sign a UFC contract. Antonina took part in her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi in a split-decision fight following her first bout by unanimous decision. Antonina bounced back from losing to defeat Lucie Pudilova in the rear with a choking submission in the second round at UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the bonus fight of the night in this match. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in the next three fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski but fell to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee.
